We are currently working the unit called "Linear Relationships".
Students were working on algebraic equations which involves two steps to solve. On the snowy day last week, the students and I were excited about snow and wanted to make a problem that involved snow. So, they were to write a word problem which created a two step equation and then solve it. As a group, students were collaborating to create, solve, and present everything on a poster.
Each student had to contribute to the poster. They all loved creating the poster.
The posters were created with the answers on the back so that other groups couldn't see it.
After each group had finished making their poster, they then had to solve another group's equation.
You can see the writing on the board shows the solving of the equation.

Yes, I agree with you. Math is, in fact, the basis of everything in life, from science to economy to how us humans act. It is indeed the most wonderful thing I've ever seen.
