This is what we did today...

Today was homeroom day.
Students did a great job of getting to their homeroom on time and meeting their new HR teacher.

Here are some pictures of students getting to know each other and making important decisions about their HR theme for the year.

Welcome to Homeroom!

On every Day 5 students participate in homeroom.
This is a time for smaller groups to work on certain tasks with a teacher.
Sometimes we have activities, sometimes goals setting or service and sometimes we talk and pray about the world we live in. Homeroom is an important time to connect with students and for them to connect with adults and each other.
This year we are fortunate to have Mrs Waddell, Mrs Ferguson, Mrs Rodriguez and Mr Yuan working with Grade 7.

WELCOME BACK TO THE 2014/2015 SCHOOL YEAR!

Hello everyone and welcome back.
How was the first week of school in your household?
It was certainly busy in the Pearse household!
It is such a blessing to be working with this fantastic group of students again this year as the Grade Team Leader.
Please feel free to email me if you would like to ask questions or discuss anything.
Below are some pictures from the first day, including our whole school convocation assembly at the end of Day 1.

The Physical Education and Health page has also been updated with some pictures and information about our first unit of the year. Click on the tab to have a look!

Last day of Grade 6 and farewells to friends...

Well the school year is over!
This class of fresh faced students have successfully navigated their way though Grade 6 studies and activities.

I want to say thank you to the 3 homeroom teachers who have worked with Grade 6 this year-
Mrs Kanzig, Mrs Rader and Mrs Bang!

This year we are saying goodbye to 4 boys who are heading off to different parts of the world...

Mose Kim
Jakob Witzel
Liam Wilder
Ethan Miller

We all had a hard time saying goodbye to them!
They know they will always have a home at TCIS!

We also had a hard time saying goodbye to Mrs Rader who is leaving TCIS as well.

Here are some pictures taken from the last day of school and the gathering we had to say farewell to each other.

Student of the Month for May

Congratulations to our 2 Grade 6 Students of the Month...

Christy Zo

This student was a new student to TCIS this year and from the beginning has demonstrated the attributes of being principled, caring, open-minded, and a thinker
She does not complain when things get difficult, but rather approaches new experiences as opportunities to learn, share, and grow as a student and friend.
She diligently works on group or independent projects with precision and creativity, while showing a caring spirit and gentle sense of humor. Her peaceful and joyful disposition help create a pleasant classroom environment. She is uplifting to her peers and she demonstrates a strong work ethic in all tasks. She is quietly determined to succeed and demonstrates that drive in all she does.

Jack Pearse

He has been a caring student to others, happily working with a variety of people in group tasks. He has placed other students in front of his own needs, ensuring they are taken care of and have friends to work with. He is helpful to his peers by being reliable, organized, and a source of information during both individual and group activities. He is a good communicator in class, offering answers, ideas and opinions in different subjects.
Recently he has shown greater perseverance in activities he finds challenging, being open-minded to advice and feedback and working consistently to improve.

Inside and outside of the classroom he has made choices to be balanced by being involved in many different activities and showing a solid commitment to each one.
