Student of the Month for August

Every month at TCIS teachers nominate, review and then vote for students who are showing exceptional skills, behaviors and/or growth in their interactions and work at TCIS.
We look for examples of the IB Learner Profile (or ESLR'S) and we look for students who are contributing holistically to making TCIS a better school and community.
All students are considered for their good works on a month by month basis.
So look our for the next SOM (Student of the Month) for September!

Congratulations to our August Student of the Month...

Mailee Sciocchetti

She has impressed many people with her high work ethic by doing her best on all tasks and showing dedication to her studies in all aspects of the MYP. She is balanced by placing equal value on all subject areas, involving herself in intramurals and having a genuine, inquiring mind to learn. She has a positive energy amongst her peers, modelling how to be a risk taker in a new environment by jumping in whole-heartedly to many activities and displaying leadership. She is making TCIS a better place with her humble, kind heart and principled behavior both in and out of the classroom.

SEW- Spiritual Emphasis Week

Grade 7 had a great community building time during SEW this year.

Below are some examples of video's and pictures to show how the students have been working together and forming important relationships for the year. They have also been immersed in God's word through chapels, praise time and devotions.

This is what we did today...

Today was homeroom day.
Students did a great job of getting to their homeroom on time and meeting their new HR teacher.

Here are some pictures of students getting to know each other and making important decisions about their HR theme for the year.

Welcome to Homeroom!

On every Day 5 students participate in homeroom.
This is a time for smaller groups to work on certain tasks with a teacher.
Sometimes we have activities, sometimes goals setting or service and sometimes we talk and pray about the world we live in. Homeroom is an important time to connect with students and for them to connect with adults and each other.
This year we are fortunate to have Mrs Waddell, Mrs Ferguson, Mrs Rodriguez and Mr Yuan working with Grade 7.

WELCOME BACK TO THE 2014/2015 SCHOOL YEAR!

Hello everyone and welcome back.
How was the first week of school in your household?
It was certainly busy in the Pearse household!
It is such a blessing to be working with this fantastic group of students again this year as the Grade Team Leader.
Please feel free to email me if you would like to ask questions or discuss anything.
Below are some pictures from the first day, including our whole school convocation assembly at the end of Day 1.

The Physical Education and Health page has also been updated with some pictures and information about our first unit of the year. Click on the tab to have a look!

Last day of Grade 6 and farewells to friends...

Well the school year is over!
This class of fresh faced students have successfully navigated their way though Grade 6 studies and activities.

I want to say thank you to the 3 homeroom teachers who have worked with Grade 6 this year-
Mrs Kanzig, Mrs Rader and Mrs Bang!

This year we are saying goodbye to 4 boys who are heading off to different parts of the world...

Mose Kim
Jakob Witzel
Liam Wilder
Ethan Miller

We all had a hard time saying goodbye to them!
They know they will always have a home at TCIS!

We also had a hard time saying goodbye to Mrs Rader who is leaving TCIS as well.

Here are some pictures taken from the last day of school and the gathering we had to say farewell to each other.
