Teens and Risky Behaviors

In Health classes currently, we are investigating risk taking and decision making as part of the curriculum.

We do this unit now because Grade 7 students are often starting to get involved in pushing the boundaries and trying different risky behaviors (both positive and negative).

Parents, here is a useful website for all things parenting. The attached link is particularly useful when helping a teenager exert their independence in healthy and safe ways.

What conversations do you have in your house about positive and negative risk taking?

How aware is your child of the influence their peers have over them when it comes to decision making and risk taking?
