Chapel... "What fills you UP?"

Last week in Chapel Dr. Roberts came to present a message to 6-8.
His question was... "What fills you up?"

Here are some notes and thoughts I had as I listened to Dr. Roberts

Social media

Gadgets/ technology

Food

Video games

Sports

Clothes

College/university

Achievements/awards

Friendships

Dreams

Travel

Grades

Successes

We sometimes use these things to fill the empty space.

There's nothing wrong with our list of fun things long as you aren't hiding behind it or trying to fill the empty spot in our heart.

John 3:16

God loves to fill empty things.

Oil jars, 

bread baskets, 

fish nets, 

 wine jars, 

empty hearts. 

The only thing Jesus left empty was the tomb, so he could fill our empty hearts. 

Jesus will fill the empty space with

Freedom

Strength

Purpose

Love

Wisdom

Hope

Joy

These are only things that God can truly provide by his grace.

These earthly possessions and goods may feel good for a while, but eventually we will still feel empty, needing more or something else to fill the void.

Jesus can fill that empty space...
